After so many complaints, Saxoncourt is finally out of service and removed from Cambridge list

It's been almost three years since I created this blog to alert people about my incident with Saxoncourt in London: about their misleading advertisement, the bad conditions of the building, the bad learning experience (disrespectful staff and precarious structure and resources), and how they called the police after I asked for my money back and took me away from the school as if I were a criminal (read here). Cambridge has answered my complaint just saying they would investigate. Unfortunately, I never got my money back. After that, I've discovered other horror stories that happened to other people.

Some blog visitors have called it to my attention that Saxoncourt has been "temporarily" out of service in London for over one year now. On August 24, 2017 (as we can see in this Google search), they had announced the reason was that they were moving to a new building. But as we click on the link, the page is not found.

Has Cambridge finally revoked Saxoncourt's CELTA accreditation after numerous complaints? At least, Cambridge has removed Saxoncourt from its list of authorised centres to deliver the CELTA.

Whatever the reason may be, being out of service for over one year cannot be a good thing. It seems to be another indication that they are not (were not) a solid CELTA provider.

Apparently, their training program hasn't been active ever since, but they continue recruiting teachers to work abroad. So watch out!

ONLY 20% OF TEACHERS WHO REVIEWED SHANE SCHOOLS AT GLASSDOOR.COM RECOMMEND THE JOB

At Glassdoor.com, three teachers have written their reviews. They've scored Saxoncourt 2.1 stars, and none of them recommends the company.

One could say only three reviews is not a significant number to make a fair judgment. But things turn uglier if we consider Shane School. According to the Group's website: "Saxoncourt is the recruitment division of the Shane English Schools brand, which connects us directly to the school we place you in. We take full care of you..."

This is what employees really feel:

Out of 72 reviews, Shane has reached 2.8 stars, and less than half of the employees (45%) recommend the company. If we apply the filter for "English teachers", of 17 reviews, only 20% of them recommend. You can read some more horror stories.

The purpose of this post is NOT to commemorate the deterioration of a company. Quite the contrary, it's to express how sad it is that all these people had to go through such terrible experiences. My goal is to alert people and prevent them from having to go through all that.

As long as Saxoncourt continues with the philosophy: “WE DON’T HAVE ANY SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. THIS IS BUSINESS,” (words I heard from the director), considering money as the priority (as many people complain), and forget to prioritise humans, they will never succeed.
